Love's Ice Cream: Fresh, Fruity, and Irresistible Ice Cream in Cumberland, BC

During my BF and I’s 2 night stay in Courtenay, we came back to Love’s 3 times! The soft berry ice creams were SO good that we had to come back. YUM. We loved that you could tell it was actual fruit, accompanied by seeds, not just some artificial syrup. We do wish there were more flavors for the soft serve, but nonetheless we can’t wait to come back to Love’s next summer!

A sweet little gem that’s totally worth the detour! Love’s Ice Cream in Cumberland is well-known across the surrounding towns—and now I know why. When we arrived, there was just a short line (less than 10 minutes), and it moved quickly. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. We tried the Wild Blueberry and Sweet & Sour Cherry—both were absolutely delicious. You can really taste the freshness of the fruit, and the flavors were vibrant without being overly sweet. My girlfriend said it was the best ice cream she’s had in a long time. I usually go for the creamier styles, but these still hit the mark in a really satisfying way. While we were there, we even saw a few people coming back for second rounds—always a good sign! The only small downside was the waffle cone—it was a bit harder and sweeter than I prefer. But overall, the experience was fantastic. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re anywhere near the area. We’ll definitely be back!

I'm visiting from the mainland and I'd say love's ice cream is by far one of the best ice cream places even compared to many top notch ones in Vancouver. In fact I have not had a fruity ice cream that tasted better and fresher than love's. I always make sure to stop by this place when I'm around and I'd eat one here every day if I get a chance to.

Incredible! Yummy rich creamy coconut based vegan ice cream with fresh berries atop a gluten free waffle cone..sadly 2000 miles from home and i one time experience.

If I lived in Cumberland I would probably visit Love’s a little too often . Delicious ice cream. I had a mini swirled cone with coconut base and local organic black currants. Enjoyed every bite including the fresh tasting waffle cone. Love that there’s a mini option. The atmosphere is super charming as well.

Both the Honey Berry and Serious Chocolate flavors were incredible! Each one is amazing on its own, but if you’re into mixing, I highly recommend making chocolate the base and adding a honey berry swirl on top. The combo hits that perfect balance of rich and fruity. Definitely coming back for more!
